Summer is almost here! Who else is excited?! Let’s geek out in our fancy new swimwear, play some games, and have a blast!
“Babe. You’re suppose to let me win!” Ok, ok, I have to be honest, Portia would not say that. She’s actually quite good at the games we do play together. If anything it’s me trying to keep up with her. At least when it comes to The Elder Scrolls Online. We decided to spend the night in last night and just relax. It started out that way at least. After hours of gaming and loads of food that is probably not great for us we ended up tangled in a pool float. Who would win, the “magic glowy spell slinging” mage Portia or the “light things on fire with burning arrows” hunter Lucky?! NOBODY KNOWS! Continue reading
In the beginning there was an Idea.
Just a small one, the tiniest inkling of a concept that teased around the edge of my awareness for weeks. Months, really. Every styling, every blog post would leave me with a sense of ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ depending on this indefinite sensation. Unfortunately there was nothing I could do about it at the time, having no idea why I felt the way I did.
I know that I write a fair bit about inspiration and how it applies to styling in Second Life, how we can pull from experiences both in-world and in the real world to form a concept that is relevant to NOW. Sometimes we hit the mark and sometimes, uhm, we do not. The point is that we think about what we do .. and why we do it.
I blog because I love styling and taking pictures. Over the last eight months or so I’ve been working harder on these images, taking more time in-world to build sets that appeal to me and then in Photoshop to add focus and definition. I feel like it’s paid off and this makes me very happy. My grandmother was a painter and in some small way I feel closer to her when I’m creating art of my own. There’s a very large part of me that’s a storyteller too, however, and sometimes the images themselves aren’t enough. Continue reading
Short post today, my dears, because we’ve had some longer ones lately and sometimes it really is nice to take a bit of a break. To relax in something comfortable and casual .. without compromising in the style department.
I think I’ve said before that I never stop shopping; it’s the reason my inventory is completely nuts but it’s also the reason I’m able to come up with some of the outfits I do. I don’t limit myself to big events or specific genres but I definitely keep my eyes on them as much as anything else. Fashion is always evolving, in SL as much as in RL, and it’s been pure pleasure to see it happen from one month to the next in here.
Have you been to the Singer Icon Fair (SIF) yet?
It’s been running a while now (through December 13th) and while I apologize for the late coverage, I wanted to do this post justice too. Sometimes it really is better to let an outfit (or two in this case) sit for a day or so while your mind continues to process everything it is that you hope to achieve with a blog entry.
The theme of this post is ‘glam by day .. rockstar at night,’ which has been as challenging as it has been fun. Cecilia Blachere, designer of shine by [ZD], chose the artist Taylor Monsem (The Pretty Reckless) as her inspiration for the fair and she’s providing two exclusive outfits for us! Flipping fabulous ones. OMG.
( Practice really does help us improve! My photos are getting better all the time.😀 ) Continue reading
Just a short little bloggy post for now; I’m hoping to get another installment for Tomorrow Today, well, today! I just have to share this lovely new hair from Exile, though, and my continuing love affair with the IKON Eternal eyes. Since it’s a casual kind of day (and I’ve gotta wear something), I figured Maitreya was the way to go; if you haven’t been there lately you absolutely need to check out the mesh sweater dress and the gorgeous new(ish) Suave shoes from Maitreya Gold. The jewelry is pretty casual too and a couple of my favourite finds from Glow Studio and Maxi Gossamer.❤

Hey guys! Just a quick post to start the day off properly.❤
I’ve been walking around in this outfit for a little while now and just loving Shine’s sweet bohemian style; I’m gravitating to this designer more and more often so if you haven’t had a chance to try the in-store demos, I highly recommend it.
( Heyyy, nice pumpkins! ) Continue reading
Wow, so it’s still August and the CHIC Vintage Fair is STILL going strong!
While I’m a little annoyed that I haven’t had time to blog much this month it’s hard to stay frustrated when I’m partying with my niece Lily (she had a GREAT 80’s glam rock set tonight, btw) and my broface Lucky. You’ll be pleased to hear I didn’t have to bribe them (much) to sit in for this picture.
I have been WAITING for a reason to wear some of these great Vintage Fair finds and finally, FINALLY, I’m home long enough to justify an hour partying with the fam (you know, instead of working .. blech). You can grab the full Westwood punk outfit I’m wearing at the Vintage Fair OR just sneak over to LUSH LIMITED’s mainshop to peek at some truly fantastic offerings. For me, the 80’s was ALL about random accessories so I’ve gone ahead and plucked a few other favourites from my inventory. Oldies but goodies, ftw! Continue reading
Phew, what a weekend! I am THRILLED to see that CHIC² is in full swing and still super-busy after the insanity of opening night. It’s been fantastic to see people peering into designer booths, trying the furniture or popping in to see if those Sassy models really ARE as tall as they seem. I grin every time I see another blog covering the event and celebrating incredible exclusives as well as CHIC Management‘s second birthday.
Since it’s a little much to expect my computer to run Second Life on ultra in the middle of CHIC², I thought I’d share a peek at my newest rooftop garden instead.:) I’m loving the new mesh topiaries from Trompe L’Oeil – like everything Cory Edo creates, these beautiful plants are low-prim, copy/modifiable, and just flipping INCREDIBLE and as if that wasn’t enough, they come with these perfect little stone urns too! It’s no secret that I love all things yellow/white/bright/happy so you must be able to imagine how thrilled I was to receive these gorgeously playful minidresses! Koketka is a new store to me HOWEVER wandering into the mainshop felt like nothing so much as finding another part of my closet lost to me until now. The dress is mini, meshy, and super cute! I can’t wait to just dive right in here later this month for a full examination of Juli’s wonderful designs. Maxi Gossamer has delivered yet -another- beautiful offering: the Lost Eden Sun Pendant. Wear it short, wear it long, but make sure you WEAR it this summer! Like the rest of her designs, this pendant is mesh and so pretty you’ll never want to take it off.❤
I’m still wearing, and still loving, the new Wasabi Pills Anais 2 hair, my stunning IKON Horizon eyes, and this Pekka lip balm I can’t seem to get enough of. It’s such a happy combination on a truly exciting day.
It’s almost time for CHIC² to open it’s doors – are YOU ready for the party?
Hey, look! Another dress and (gasp!) it’s white! Continue reading
