Tavern Tuesday .. Wait, it’s Tuesday Again, Right?

Well shoot!

It might not be Tuesday yet but last night Lucky and I maneuvered into a good amount of free time .. which I commandeered for the sole purpose of getting this idea OUT of my head and onto Mask and Mien.

“But Portia,” you might ask, “where did you get this idea for a ‘Tavern Tuesday?'”

Well, Dear Reader, I’m glad you asked!

Tavern Tuesday.png
“Wow, how much were we drinking this weekend?”

The concept started last Tuesday or maybe the one before when Lucky and I were doing our ‘flickr maintenance’ (scrolling through our streams to admire the people we follow, see what they’re making and/or wearing; what’s new, etc.) and I noticed that there were a LOT of, well, there were a lot of breasts on my stream. I like breasts, having them myself, but the sheer VOLUME of cleavage, side-boob, nips, and pasties was starting to get to me. My man was kind enough to inform me that ‘T-T Tuesdays’ (say it aloud if you have to, I’m trying to keep bosom mentions to a reasonable minimum here) are a real thing. Because they are! What. The Fantasy Gacha SNEAK PEEK (part 1)

Okay, so first of all I have one thing to say:

“YOU GUYS ARE IN BIG TROUBLE.”

Much like the last session, this round of The Fantasy Gacha is set on the Acerbus Silva sim and holy wow, there are a LOT of machines to tap. Just like last time, I went a little bit crazy in the first section, forgetting that there were still dozens of gacha machines tucked away in other parts of the event area. To help -you- avoid prematurely blowing through all of your lindens, however, I have decided to provide this map to show you just how massive the place is:

Fantasy Gacha Overhead

Bear in mind that the tiiiiny red tent at the lower left-hand corner of the picture is the landing point. You’ll cross the bridge into the first group of gacha machines and then proceed straight ahead or to your left. Do not forget that there are many, many vendors in each area, though! Pace yourself and remember that you can always come back later for another round. Breathe. You’ll get through this. Continue reading

A Triumphant Return?

Can you believe that it’s been nearly four months since my last post?

I really can’t, honestly, but I suppose the fact that it took me five minutes and umpteen attempts to access my wordpress account can attest to the dry spell. I’ve missed blogging, missed sharing my thoughts and some of the many outfits I put together throughout my time in Second Life. No doubt some of you know that it’s been a busy time for me; my nephew is HUGE now (proud auntie pictures on my flickr page) and nearly seven months old! I’ve moved from my tiny apartment to a much-less-tiny townhouse across town and I’m loving all the extra space (and a computer in my bedroom, thank you very much!). With Thanksgiving approaching, I’m looking forward to cooking a massive meal for my family and having enough actual counter space to do it. Do you remember my post about Awesome Breed Creations (ABC) Horses? I’m working for them now as their official Clerk of Course, which means practically nothing to you, I’m sure, but it’s a marvelous honour. If you’re interested in racing horses in SL (or waiting for jousting events to begin like the rest of us), you should come check us out sometime.:)

Okay, okay. “ENOUGH!” you say.  Shall we talk about clothes?

“What was that, meow?”

That’s RIGHT!

Our favourite cobbler Gos made his first official donation to the PDSA this week! The total was a staggering £1553.14 (around $2364), all earmarked to care for the pets of people in need by providing free veterinary services to their sick and injured animals as well as to promote responsible pet ownership.

Truth and Longing

Writer’s block: DEMOLISHED!

Well, mostly.

If you’re just tuning in now, you might have missed my newest blogger challenge! Yes, I was having a hard time putting words to (metaphorical) paper and I’ve noticed that the longer you put writing to one side, the harder it is to start up again.  Hence the challenge to just post something, already!

Feeling similarly stoppered up? Give it a try!

Raw Truth 600( The Truth.)

I hope you’ve heard by now that our beloved Sea Hole is closing. Like me, you might have wondered why a star brand at Collabor88 was missing, only to sigh, nod sadly, and sulk over the news for days. Whether you made it to the mainstore right away or not, whether you bought half the store in one fell swoop (like me) or resolved to get a few things, only to find you absolutely NEEDED the entire store afterwards (also like me), it is my sincere hope that you have done everything in your power to send this incredible designer out with a bang (and all of your L$). Drinkenstein Sorbet, you will be missed! Continue reading

Writer’s Blog-err.. Writer’s Block Challenge!

We have ALL been here. Some of us more recently, some less so. Some more frequently, some only INfrequently.  Writer’s blog .. blog .. BLOCK (I keep typing ‘blog,’ wth) is a very real issue, even if you don’t write much to accompany your pictures, you may still find the thought of posting in your blog uninspiring.

My last post was February 25th. It’s May 19th. I think it’s fair to say that there’s a problem here.

So what do we do when life is busy, stressful, and generally not conducive to thoughtful introspection?

We find a new challenge, of course!

So here it is: My challenge to YOU, oh bloggers of SL, is to write a single blog post. I’m going to help you get through this in less than ten steps. Observe! Continue reading

Sophia’s Mean Reds

Holly Golightly: You know those days when you get the mean reds?
Paul Varjak: The mean reds, you mean like the blues?
Holly Golightly: No. The blues are because you’re getting fat and maybe it’s been raining too long, you’re just sad that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?
Paul Varjak: Sure.
Holly Golightly: Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany’s. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that’d make me feel like Tiffany’s, then – then I’d buy some furniture and give the cat a name!

Sophia Shine L 600 (A larger shot, just for you dahling. )

Okay, so I know this isn’t the first time I’ve quoted Breakfast at Tiffany’s here, and it certainly won’t be the last, but when I was composing this look (oh, I don’t know, about a week and a half ago *sigh*) I was feeling some of those ‘mean reds’ myself. Life gets overwhelming on occasion, everyone knows that, and sometimes all you can do is go to Tiffany’s or, you know, haul buns over to the Gos Boutique to look at some new shoes. Why not swing over to the Designer Showcase  to pick up shine by [ZD]‘s new mesh outfit while you’re at it and certainly, certainly treat yourself to the gorgeous new LeLutka hair, some jewelry from Paper Couture, and lovely, lovely makeup from cheLLe.

It’s called ‘retail therapy’ for a reason, right? Continue reading

Meet Mae

Well, actually this is my brother Lucky; the shoes are named Mae.😀

brofaceblog 600L

Ahhh, much better!

So maybe there’s a bit of a disconnect between what Lucky is wearing and what I’ve chosen for this pic. If you’re looking at our feet, sure, the shoes don’t really match (but aren’t they FANTASTIC?!). What I find interesting, though, is scrolling up, you can see that we aren’t mismatched either. We coordinated colours and accessories to make this shot just a little more cohesive. Life is like that, too; sometimes you can’t line things up exactly but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Use what you’ve got. Love what you have.

I know for a fact that Lucky is going to rave about his sweater-bowtie-vest-thinger in HIS blog post so I’ll just tell you about what I’m wearing today. Deal? Continue reading
