In this short (and very quick) series of posts, I am excited to show you some of my favourite Halloween costume ideas that may be a little bit different from the creepy, kooky, sexy, and scary costumes we’ve all come to know and love. Many of these outfits are mix and match, which I love to do, and all of them were assembled with a collection of old and new gear.
Don’t know what to wear for Halloween, 2015?
Read on! You might already have everything you need in your inventory!

Can you believe that it’s been nearly four months since my last post?
I really can’t, honestly, but I suppose the fact that it took me five minutes and umpteen attempts to access my wordpress account can attest to the dry spell. I’ve missed blogging, missed sharing my thoughts and some of the many outfits I put together throughout my time in Second Life. No doubt some of you know that it’s been a busy time for me; my nephew is HUGE now (proud auntie pictures on my flickr page) and nearly seven months old! I’ve moved from my tiny apartment to a much-less-tiny townhouse across town and I’m loving all the extra space (and a computer in my bedroom, thank you very much!). With Thanksgiving approaching, I’m looking forward to cooking a massive meal for my family and having enough actual counter space to do it. Do you remember my post about Awesome Breed Creations (ABC) Horses? I’m working for them now as their official Clerk of Course, which means practically nothing to you, I’m sure, but it’s a marvelous honour. If you’re interested in racing horses in SL (or waiting for jousting events to begin like the rest of us), you should come check us out sometime. 🙂
Okay, okay. “ENOUGH!” you say. Shall we talk about clothes?
Wow, so it’s almost March and I am thoroughly SICK of winter. Snow is nice, holidays are great, and I love getting bundled up and snuggly as the next girl but gosh, I’m ready to look outside my window and see something that isn’t white, brown, or grey.
I think you know what I mean.
( Flickr, whee! )
So let’s talk about colour today, my lovelies! Continue reading
Well, actually this is my brother Lucky; the shoes are named Mae. 😀
Ahhh, much better!
So maybe there’s a bit of a disconnect between what Lucky is wearing and what I’ve chosen for this pic. If you’re looking at our feet, sure, the shoes don’t really match (but aren’t they FANTASTIC?!). What I find interesting, though, is scrolling up, you can see that we aren’t mismatched either. We coordinated colours and accessories to make this shot just a little more cohesive. Life is like that, too; sometimes you can’t line things up exactly but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Use what you’ve got. Love what you have.
I know for a fact that Lucky is going to rave about his sweater-bowtie-vest-thinger in HIS blog post so I’ll just tell you about what I’m wearing today. Deal? Continue reading
It isn’t often that I have absolutely nothing to say about clothes buuut .. just look at this:
( This gown is even more stunning in high resolution. Check flickr. You won’t be disappointed.)
The gown: Tres Beau.
The jewelry: Chop Zuey.
Everything was custom made for this year’s Miss Virtual World pageant and even though I’m wearing Iceland’s gown and Turkey’s jewelry (my next post will feature Turkey’s gown with Iceland’s jewelry) the effect is just incredible. I used a soft, romantic hairstyle from [e] and IKON’s striking new Eternal Eyes in ‘Wave’ to complete this outfit. I still don’t know what else to say about it. Continue reading
This isn’t a surprise to you, but if you answered mostly A’s in the above quiz, there’s a strong chance you’re a Dramatic Diva.
( I’m in LOVE with this picture. Check it at its full size here. )
Mostly A’s – The Daring Diva
You are the life of the party. Nothing makes you happier than to be in the middle of a crowd, doing your thing, and having a marvelous time. You’re probably a little wild (or maybe you just want to be), a little bit loud, and whether or not everyone loves your wacky antics, no one has ever accused you of being boring.
Fashion is just another form of artistic expression for you. You love bright, bold colours and none of your outfits are complete without some kind of rocking accessory.
If your quiz results were mostly C’s, you might be a Nature Girl.
( Off to flickr with you! )
Mostly C’s – The Nature Girl
For you, dressing to go out is the means to an end. All the fuss of choosing gowns and shoes and jewelry and makeup and (ugh) hair, seems, well, like too much work. You enjoy looking good, but you don’t get excited about it the way other people do. You probably prefer your mesh feet over any shoes on the grid.
However much you enjoy clothing, you enjoy where you’re going even more. You may not accessorize as much as the Daring Diva but you love texture. If something looks soft, lush, and/or comfortable, you probably have it in six colours.
If your quiz results were mostly F’s, you may want to look at this:
( A wider shot is available on my flickr stream. Go peek! )
Mostly F’s – The Silver Screen Starlet
There was a time, not too long ago, when men wore fedoras and trenchcoats. Women wore jewels and heels and skirts. Things were made with better materials, lasted longer, and somehow also cost less. You are a throwback to those times.
Your clothes are feminine without being girly. You ooze sensuality without being overtly sexy. You have truly excellent underwear.
If your quiz results were mostly G’s, you’re very likey a Simple Sophisticate!
( Yep, we’re going to flickr. Hop in! )
Mostly G’s – The Simple Sophisticate
Style is a simple way of saying complicated things and you know this better than most. What sets you apart from the others is your ability to know where you’re going, what you’ll be doing, and dress accordingly. Costume party? Check. Ballroom dancing? Check. Bumming around the house in pj’s? Double check!
You are the owner of a truly magical inventory and everything you wear reflects this. You love fashion, no doubt, and everything you wear is planned before you leave your equally-gorgeous home. You have more clothes than anyone you know.
