These shoes. Man oh man, do I love these shoes. Growing up, the Nike Air Force 1 was the shoe to have. Especially the all whites. I would say it still holds true today because I see them around quite often. Read on to find out where you can find my new favorite casual shoes.
I remember having a really nice sculpted pair from [hoorenbeek] in my earlier Second Life days. I still have them actually, refusing to retire them until I could find a more up to date pair that really called to me. That time has arrived. [ VERSOV ] released an amazing collection of Air Force 1 lookalikes called the JUMPOV. They are absolutely unbelievably amazing. They’re available in 13, yes THIRTEEN color options. Each includes a HUD to change the metal texture on the lace slide to one of three options. To top it all off you get fitted versions for Slink Male and Female flat feet, Aesthetic feet, TMP male and female, Maitreya flat feet, and of course Classic avatar feet. All for $249 or the fatpack for L$1700. They are worth every single cent if you ask me. Head over to TMD and try the demo! Continue reading
“Men are like wine – some turn to vinegar, but the best improve with age.”
It’s February 20th and that means another round of Men Only Monthly is here. I was extremely intrigued when I saw that [Deadwool] was at this month’s round. As I’m sure you have noticed I am very big fan of Masa Plympton’s work. So much so that I find myself thinking of wearing a suit pretty much every other, if not every day of the week. If you remember back at the beginning of the month we got the Peak Suit (wool) at Monsieur Chic. I loved it then and I love it now. The optimization for the Slink Physique and options with the HUD made it a must have in my opinion. The Peak Suit (Tux) is just as beautiful. It has a classy rich feel to it, accented by a simple bow tie. We’ve got four colors (black, blue, ivory, and wine) to choose from, as well as the fatpack. Continue reading
It’s been almost two weeks since I’ve done a post! I’ve really been a bad blogger lately and for that I apologize. This post will probably end up being a lot more words then pictures but I think it’s one I’ve really needed to do. Probably should have done it years ago honestly. Story time my friends…
WOW. It is officially the fifth of the month, which means another round of The Men’s Dept has started. It’s one of the few men’s events on the grid these days. It’s understandable as we’re outnumbered by quite a bit. It has grown to include more unisex items as time has gone by but I look forward to it each month.
Okay, so first of all I have one thing to say:
“YOU GUYS ARE IN BIG TROUBLE.”
Much like the last session, this round of The Fantasy Gacha is set on the Acerbus Silva sim and holy wow, there are a LOT of machines to tap. Just like last time, I went a little bit crazy in the first section, forgetting that there were still dozens of gacha machines tucked away in other parts of the event area. To help -you- avoid prematurely blowing through all of your lindens, however, I have decided to provide this map to show you just how massive the place is:
Bear in mind that the tiiiiny red tent at the lower left-hand corner of the picture is the landing point. You’ll cross the bridge into the first group of gacha machines and then proceed straight ahead or to your left. Do not forget that there are many, many vendors in each area, though! Pace yourself and remember that you can always come back later for another round. Breathe. You’ll get through this. Continue reading
Can you believe that it’s been nearly four months since my last post?
I really can’t, honestly, but I suppose the fact that it took me five minutes and umpteen attempts to access my wordpress account can attest to the dry spell. I’ve missed blogging, missed sharing my thoughts and some of the many outfits I put together throughout my time in Second Life. No doubt some of you know that it’s been a busy time for me; my nephew is HUGE now (proud auntie pictures on my flickr page) and nearly seven months old! I’ve moved from my tiny apartment to a much-less-tiny townhouse across town and I’m loving all the extra space (and a computer in my bedroom, thank you very much!). With Thanksgiving approaching, I’m looking forward to cooking a massive meal for my family and having enough actual counter space to do it. Do you remember my post about Awesome Breed Creations (ABC) Horses? I’m working for them now as their official Clerk of Course, which means practically nothing to you, I’m sure, but it’s a marvelous honour. If you’re interested in racing horses in SL (or waiting for jousting events to begin like the rest of us), you should come check us out sometime.
Okay, okay. “ENOUGH!” you say. Shall we talk about clothes?
Our favourite cobbler Gos made his first official donation to the PDSA this week! The total was a staggering £1553.14 (around $2364), all earmarked to care for the pets of people in need by providing free veterinary services to their sick and injured animals as well as to promote responsible pet ownership.
(A larger picture is waiting for you here! )
You can read the full details on the Gos Boutique Blog and pleasepleasePLEASE visit the shop in-world to try these amazing shoes for an important cause. If you aren’t able to buy a pair of shoes (or maybe you already have all of them😉 ) there are donation boxes throughout the store. Continue reading
Writer’s block: DEMOLISHED!
If you’re just tuning in now, you might have missed my newest blogger challenge! Yes, I was having a hard time putting words to (metaphorical) paper and I’ve noticed that the longer you put writing to one side, the harder it is to start up again. Hence the challenge to just post something, already!
Feeling similarly stoppered up? Give it a try!
( The Truth.)
I hope you’ve heard by now that our beloved Sea Hole is closing. Like me, you might have wondered why a star brand at Collabor88 was missing, only to sigh, nod sadly, and sulk over the news for days. Whether you made it to the mainstore right away or not, whether you bought half the store in one fell swoop (like me) or resolved to get a few things, only to find you absolutely NEEDED the entire store afterwards (also like me), it is my sincere hope that you have done everything in your power to send this incredible designer out with a bang (and all of your L$). Drinkenstein Sorbet, you will be missed! Continue reading
We have ALL been here. Some of us more recently, some less so. Some more frequently, some only INfrequently. Writer’s blog .. blog .. BLOCK (I keep typing ‘blog,’ wth) is a very real issue, even if you don’t write much to accompany your pictures, you may still find the thought of posting in your blog uninspiring.
My last post was February 25th. It’s May 19th. I think it’s fair to say that there’s a problem here.
So what do we do when life is busy, stressful, and generally not conducive to thoughtful introspection?
We find a new challenge, of course!
So here it is: My challenge to YOU, oh bloggers of SL, is to write a single blog post. I’m going to help you get through this in less than ten steps. Observe! Continue reading
