There are so many things I wanted to say about this picture, so many beautiful pieces I wanted to draw to your attention. The stunning revelation that is -AZUL-‘s new dedication to offering Omega layer options for their beautiful gowns. The gorgeous new jewellery set we’ll be seeing at the Arcade so very, very soon. An incredibly detailed Iron Throne prop from DRD that comes in, fully animated, at 25 li (it sounds like a lot, sure, but just LOOK! Does that even look like an SL background?) Continue reading
Happy New Year!
Sure, it’s halfway through January already (a thing I’m still trying to wrap my head around) but with around three hundred and fifty days of 2016 ahead of us, what’s a week or two, right? 😀
Our favourite cobbler Gos made his first official donation to the PDSA this week! The total was a staggering £1553.14 (around $2364), all earmarked to care for the pets of people in need by providing free veterinary services to their sick and injured animals as well as to promote responsible pet ownership.
(A larger picture is waiting for you here! )
You can read the full details on the Gos Boutique Blog and pleasepleasePLEASE visit the shop in-world to try these amazing shoes for an important cause. If you aren’t able to buy a pair of shoes (or maybe you already have all of them 😉 ) there are donation boxes throughout the store. Continue reading
Writer’s block: DEMOLISHED!
If you’re just tuning in now, you might have missed my newest blogger challenge! Yes, I was having a hard time putting words to (metaphorical) paper and I’ve noticed that the longer you put writing to one side, the harder it is to start up again. Hence the challenge to just post something, already!
Feeling similarly stoppered up? Give it a try!
( The Truth.)
I hope you’ve heard by now that our beloved Sea Hole is closing. Like me, you might have wondered why a star brand at Collabor88 was missing, only to sigh, nod sadly, and sulk over the news for days. Whether you made it to the mainstore right away or not, whether you bought half the store in one fell swoop (like me) or resolved to get a few things, only to find you absolutely NEEDED the entire store afterwards (also like me), it is my sincere hope that you have done everything in your power to send this incredible designer out with a bang (and all of your L$). Drinkenstein Sorbet, you will be missed! Continue reading
Okay, wow. So. This is turning into quite the project, isn’t it?
Are you as excited as I am to be doing this? (I certainly hope so!)
So today we begin with pretty, pretty horses, but I promise we’ll get a little farther this time. 😀 We’re going to talk about Awesome Breed Creations (ABC) in a general way to start. We’ll have a peek at the mainshop with a very broad overview of what an interested outsider (ie. me) would be interested to know about the special features ABC has to offer.
( Pretty, right? It’s even nicer at 4048x. :D)
Teleporting onto the sim is easy, the landmark is right here, and you’ll notice immediately that the place is just beautiful. Horses everywhere! As you’re able to see in the picture above (and probably every other picture I take for the next three months), there are a ton of beautiful, beautiful options as well. This is the first thing that struck me about ABC and the thing that I can’t help but revisit when I ask myself if I really want to try another breedable:
They’re just so pretty. Continue reading
Just a quick post tonight (this morning?) but I wanted to share this cute little outfit with you before I started falling behind again. The first thing you’re going to notice (probably) is my new mesh friend; I’ve named him Charming and he just loves to stand around while I take pictures all day long. Cute, right?
So I’m wearing a couple of items from round 43 of the Designer’s Circle, Beautycode earrings and a pair of jeans from even.flow, along with my favourite Gos boots (yes, I have about six pairs of ‘favourite’ Gos boots but these are one of them) along with these sunglasses I can’t stop wearing either. Leather jacket from shine, newish Truth hair, and a great little tee from mon tissu .. what’s not to love? Continue reading
Whatever our reasons for joining Second Life, whatever path lead us here, everyone has a story that begins in another time and a very different place.
My story began online, way back in 2004 (holy wow!), in a place called Paragon City and, more specifically, in a game called City of Heroes. I played a mutant heroine named Ms Permafrost, an ice/storm controller (if that means anything to you). She was (is?) a defensive character and it was always my pleasure to keep opponents on ice with crowd control and damage mitigation, while tossing the occasional heal to allies as needed. Is my nerd hat showing? Continue reading
So here I am, awake at 5am and smiling after a few glasses of wine, and I’m excited to share this next post with you! This is a dress I’ve been styling for a few days but nothing was working the way I thought it should. I don’t wear much black and I’ll be the first to say that it’s my biggest challenge to work with deep, dark shades like this.
Until I realize that colour is the answer!
Check it out: shine‘s simple black sixties dress (available NOW at Designer’s Circle #42) with Cae‘s beautiful starfish jewelry set. I changed the jewelry to ‘patina’ (and THANK YOU, Cae, for having an option to change every item at the same time <3) and found a pair of blue/green ombre tights from Milk Motion. Truth‘s Cyanne hair with a greenish headband (so pretty!) and my fantastic HOC platforms round it all out perfectly. Continue reading
Working Title: Yesterday’s Tomorrow’s Tomorrow Today
First of all, I’m sure you can see why I went with a simpler title but let me explain:
It was always my intention to cover the Tomorrow Today event in installments; it’s the easiest thing in the world to promote a new event because most everyone has heard about it, been waiting for it, and are excited to see fantastic new offerings especially when proceeds are donated to a worthwhile cause. The thing with Second Life, though, is that time is a little skewed. Many things happen on a daily basis and the more time we spend here, the fuller every day seems to be. It’s easy to say “hey, I really love this __________, but I’ll just come back for it later. I won’t forget.”
Sometimes we forget. We’re human. We err.
I was supposed to write this post yesterday under the borderline-creative-and-cheeky title “Tomorrow’s Tomorrow Today” but .. again, I’m as human as anyone. I didn’t get to it. Ugh. Continue reading
