Baby it’s cold outside.

It’s the time of year where coffee or hot chocolate are such an incredible choice. At least up here in the northern United States with winter having rolled in big time this week. I envy the south when it comes to winter as it is not my season of choice! The only thing I do enjoy about it is snuggling up with a loved one (here’s looking at you Ms. Pexington!), hot chocolate (or coffee/tea if that’s your thing), and just enjoying their company.

Truth and Longing

Writer’s block: DEMOLISHED!

Well, mostly.

If you’re just tuning in now, you might have missed my newest blogger challenge! Yes, I was having a hard time putting words to (metaphorical) paper and I’ve noticed that the longer you put writing to one side, the harder it is to start up again.  Hence the challenge to just post something, already!

Feeling similarly stoppered up? Give it a try!

Raw Truth 600( The Truth.)

I hope you’ve heard by now that our beloved Sea Hole is closing. Like me, you might have wondered why a star brand at Collabor88 was missing, only to sigh, nod sadly, and sulk over the news for days. Whether you made it to the mainstore right away or not, whether you bought half the store in one fell swoop (like me) or resolved to get a few things, only to find you absolutely NEEDED the entire store afterwards (also like me), it is my sincere hope that you have done everything in your power to send this incredible designer out with a bang (and all of your L$). Drinkenstein Sorbet, you will be missed! Continue reading

Breathe Me

Today’s post begins with a lamp.  A lovely lamp from {what next} that I have in my living room (the one that never needs tidying or vacuuming and I never stub my toe on the coffee table). I’ve been wearing this coldLogic sweater a lot lately as well, and this hair from Exile that never seems to work with any outfit I want to blog. You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to photograph these two things; it’s been driving me crazy for weeks!

Breathe Me Story

So I’m realxing, considering what I should do next, and I was struck again by how pretty and simple this lamp is. I like simple things. I like clean lines and soft colours. I love textures that look snuggly and warm, especially when I’m feeling a little down (which I am). The lamp reminds me of all these things and since I’m already dressed in clothes I love, I sneak up to my platform for an experiment! Continue reading

Today!

Working Title: Yesterday’s Tomorrow’s Tomorrow Today

First of all, I’m sure you can see why I went with a simpler title but let me explain:

It was always my intention to cover the Tomorrow Today event in installments; it’s the easiest thing in the world to promote a new event because most everyone has heard about it, been waiting for it, and are excited to see fantastic new offerings especially when proceeds are donated to a worthwhile cause. The thing with Second Life, though, is that time is a little skewed. Many things happen on a daily basis and the more time we spend here, the fuller every day seems to be. It’s easy to say “hey, I really love this __________, but I’ll just come back for it later. I won’t forget.

Sometimes we forget. We’re human. We err.

I was supposed to write this post yesterday under the borderline-creative-and-cheeky title “Tomorrow’s Tomorrow Today” but .. again, I’m as human as anyone. I didn’t get to it. Ugh. Continue reading

Of all the dresses ..

.. in all the shops in all of the SL events right now .. the CadyLady and I bought the EXACT SAME ONE. At Cinema.

Crazy, right? But really .. would you have been able to resist the Volstead ‘Liason’ in honey? This lacy, silky, sheer chemise (if you aren’t wearing the glitch layers) left me speechless the second I tried it on. I’m still having trouble drumming up the words to describe how much I love this piece. Just .. go to Cinema and pick up the demo so you can throw me a line, here.

Okay?

Thanks.

Thursday?!

HG: Thursday! It can’t be! It’s too gruesome!

PV: What’s so gruesome about Thursday?

HG: Nothing, except I can never remember when it’s coming up.

AAAHHHH!!!  Thursday already and nearly a week into Cinema! Can you believe it?! I had plans, so many plans, so many outfits lined up and ready to go but life just kind of takes over sometimes and it’s all we can do to keep up. But boy, I have a treat for you now – cross my heart and kiss my elbow!

So yes, I can never decide of Breakfast at Tiffany’s is my favourite movie of all time but when I have the “mean reds” there’s nothing else for me to do but pop this DVD on, close my eyes, and just listen to Audrey Hepburn’s voice for a couple of hours. I could do it right now except it’s Thursday (!!) and I have other things to do this afternoon, blah! Continue reading

To Be Free

So it’s no real secret that I’m loving the boho and as we move through autumn and into winter, I’m really hoping to see more fun patterns and layers to mix and match. This is what the bohemian style is really about, as far as I’m concerned; it’s the freedom to wear what you like best, to find something (or a bunch of things) that suit you and bring a smile to your face.🙂 See?

Sunshine (or Love all of me, pt. 2)

It’s been a really long time since I wrote about the issues I face every day.

My first (and only) post on the subject, Love all of me, was written in January of this year, nearly eight months ago to the day. I’m pleased to say that I’m making excellent progress; it’s important to focus on the positive, first and foremost, no matter how much work lies ahead. There have been difficult times. Devastating losses. My grandmother, whom I had been caring for 24 hours a day since April, passed away on July 27th, the very morning I’d planned to visit her in hospice. Many of my family and friends still struggle to understand my condition. For those of you who have yet to read through my ramblings here, I should say that I live with severe anxiety, hypersensitivity, and agoraphobia. I am paranoid and have struggled with depression for many years.

(Let’s have a pretty picture now, hmm? Don’t worry, it gets better!) Continue reading

Addressing the Dresses (CHIC², part three!)

It’s no secret that I love all things yellow/white/bright/happy so you must be able to imagine how thrilled I was to receive these gorgeously playful minidresses! Koketka is a new store to me HOWEVER wandering into the mainshop felt like nothing so much as finding another part of my closet lost to me until now. The dress is mini, meshy, and super cute! I can’t wait to just dive right in here later this month for a full examination of Juli’s wonderful designs. Maxi Gossamer has delivered yet -another- beautiful offering: the Lost Eden Sun Pendant. Wear it short, wear it long, but make sure you WEAR it this summer! Like the rest of her designs, this pendant is mesh and so pretty you’ll never want to take it off.❤

I’m still wearing, and still loving, the new Wasabi Pills Anais 2 hair, my stunning IKON Horizon eyes, and this Pekka lip balm I can’t seem to get enough of. It’s such a happy combination on a truly exciting day.

It’s almost time for CHIC² to open it’s doors – are YOU ready for the party?

Hey, look! Another dress and (gasp!) it’s white! Continue reading
